人間国宝・隅谷正峯先生の流派を汲む長野県無形文化財・宮入法廣師匠の下での8年の修行の後、滋賀県東近江市五箇荘にて鍛刀場を構え日本刀の製作をしております。

日本固有の鍛治製法によって作られる日本刀は、独特な反りのあるその姿や、刀文の美しさ、地鉄の輝きなど刀身自体に大きな魅力があります。私は、鎌倉・南北朝時代の名刀に魅せられ、その時代の丁字と呼ばれる華やかな刀文を持つ備前伝を目標にしています。名刀には技術の高さに加えて、その刀から湧き出てくる品格があります。

また、隅谷流、宮入法廣流を後世に残していけるよう、日本刀の伝統技術を途切れさせることなく、多くの人に美術品として親しんでもらえるよう日々作刀しております。

 I opened my Japanese sword smithy in Gokasho Higashiomi in Shiga Prefecture in 2010, after eight years of training. I studied under Norihiro Miyairi, an Intangible Cultural Property of Nagano Prefecture, an adherent of the style of Masamine Sumitani who is a Living National Treasure of Japan.

 Japanese swords made by taraditional methods are known for their attractive blades, with their distinctive curved shape, beautiful patterns, and brightness of iron. The most valued Japanese swords in history typically show not only the smith's exceptional skill, but also his grace.

 I am particularey fascinated by “choji”, the beautiful pattern used in the Bizen-Den style of Japanese swords made during the Kamakura and Nanbokucho periods. I work in the hope of leaving our traditional method of Japanese sword smithing to new generations and for many people to enjoy the art of Japanese swords.
